Graceland - 4 Episodes Test

Graceland is like The Real World: Secret Agents! Undercover agents from different branches of law enforcement (FBI, CIA, DEA, etc.) live together in a beach house where they bust bad guys and work on their tans. Part comedy, part police drama, this series from White Collar creator Jeff Eastin is looking in good form to be USA's next hit.

Four Episodes in, Graceland has been able to keep the story alive, bringing together pieces to form a captivating tv show. One well worth watching.

After the fourth episode, i think Graceland is its way to greater things and is a good addition to your list of tv shows.

Alice Fredenham - Liquid Gold

Britain's got talent is over but while it was on it introduced the world to someone i feel is one of the best singers i've ever had the pleasure to listen to.

Alice Fredenham has an amazing talent, one of the very few of her kind. In Simon Cowell's words, "She could sing the phone book."

She sounds like a mixture of Amy Whinehouse, Marilyn Monroe, Rita Hayworth and beautiful velvet.
I could listen to her sing all night. And though she didn't even make the final due to her slip up in the semi's, i believe she would have a great career and i hope someone gives her the chance to.(Simon i'm referring to you...)

I'll leave you with some of her work and let you decide if you think she's got the goods.

Paul Thomas Mitchell Leaves His mark, Plus Other Great Auditions on AGT

America's got talent came back for episode 2 of season 8 last night and brought with them some amazing talent to showcase for the world. Here are some of my personal favorites from that 2hr episode.

Paul Thomas Mitchell
After a hard upbringing with alcohol and drug-addicted parents and being abandoned by his mother the 20-year-old singer couldn't help but let his emotions boil over on the AGT stage. He put all the pain into his rendition of an original song called "My Life" causing the judges to feel his pain and heap praises on the young lad.
Mel B succinctly summed up the entire audition by saying “I think you just touched not just us, but the whole of America.”
Watch Paul's amazing performance..

D'angelo and Amanda/ Ruby and Jonas

Every good show need a little bit of sibling rivalry and AGT played this one really nicely pitching D'angelo against his lil sister Ruby. Even though i lean slightly to D & A due to the humor in their performance, i must say that Ruby and Jonas are really awesome as well. Well, you decide...

Megan Piphus

In my humble opinion as always, i think she should drop the puppets and get that recording contract but then that's what makes this act all the special, beauty and the puppets (which shows that ventriloquism isn't a thing for pedophiles...) and that amazing range... you go on girl

Collins Key
UHHH Magic... 16 year old Collins Key performed a trick that still makes me wonder how it was done. Except the judges were in on it that was an impossible act really. But for a 16 year old that was a great performance. And you can tell it meant a lot to him to pull that off...

Jonathan Allen
You got to love a sad story, one of pain and rejection. Every show tries to use stories like Jonathan's to capture the hearts of the public and AGT did a great job of this. Take nothing away from Jonathan, he is an amazing singer, his story however makes it all the more appealing. I hope he goes far

Travis Pratt
LOVE, LOVE, Crazy Love.... i loved this audition for all the right reasons, his voice, his love story and of course the proposal. Howie asked if he was the one hitting those notes, and his brilliant reply.. "All day"
Travis is a jewel in my opinion and i'm rooting for him to succeed.

It's just the second episode and we are having so much already, looking forward to more exceptional talents.

TV series and the last six months

It has been a while i've been here, and oh i missed it. Been too busy with other things but its good to be back fully this time ( i hope).
Although i've been missing in action here, i never stopped being an addict and watching as many good tv shows as i could lay my hands on. The last year in tv shows has been an awesome blend of mind blowing episodes and extremely breathtaking season finales (i see you there Scandal, Revenge, Arrow.....).
Also some new and exciting prospects have come up. Let me share with you some of the new shows i have been invested in this year.

House of Cards - Netflix

I love politics and i love to follow the games involved. House of cards does an absolutely brilliant job of telling stories of betrayal, regret, mistakes, control etc all revolving over what is the political scene in the US. If you love politics, join Francis Underwood on his quest to play the game and win.

Da Vinci's Demons - Fox/Starz

What i really love about this show is the story telling. It takes some of the weirdest stories and some true stories about Leonardo Da Vinci and creates a fictional masterpiece. This is one show that makes you want to pay attention because if you miss something you might find yourself lost.

Orphan Black - BBC America

Someone asked me, what do you love most about orphan black and i said Tatiana Maslany, Tatiana Maslany, Tatiana MASLANY!!! I really never quite believed that a show about clones will be so good that i can confidently say it is one of the best tv shows in 2013. It has everything, sex appeal, quirkiness, weirdness (Felix i mean you...) and just the right amount of suspense to make it such a wonderful new show.

Hannibal - NBC

This one is still fresh and not so yummy (if you think that its about people eating people) but it still stands out as one of the best thing to happen to tv shows this year. Good casting, creative writing (sometimes too creative), a bit slow at times but it compensates with a perfect blend of suspense and thrill. Great one to watch.

The Americans - FX
If i were to choose my favorite new show in 2013, the americans would be right up there in contention. I always love a good amount of drama attached to every show and thats what this show does so brilliantly. Extremely great cast, good amounts of suspense, and the sex appeal adds up to make this one of the outstanding ones of 2013.

I'll leave you with these ones for now while i scamper about looking for more new shows to devour. Notable mentions however include, Rectify, Save me, Bates motel and Broadchurch. Keep your fingers crossed, I may just cover them in my next piece.

Till later......

December 6th was the release date and i waited patiently to hear what Bruno had to offer on this album and i wasn't disappointed. An impeccable fusion of great pop and sexy lyrics meant this album is to me his best work and is utterly engaging. (ohh, treasure is an amazing song)
Fav songs - Locked up in heaven, When i was your man

7. FIONA APPLE - The Idler Wheel...

2. FRANK OCEAN - Channel Orange

For someone who isn't a huge Ocean fan to have channel orange as my second best album in 2012, that says a lot on how good this album was and still is. from "thinking about you" to every other song on the album, Ocean showed a unique side and took everyone one a journey to his channel. A journey a lot of people are still enjoying.
Fav song - Thinking about you

1. TAYLOR SWIFT - RED

OMG, from the first time i listened to this song, i added Taylor into my list of singers i wanted to see live before i died. RED was an awesome work of art by a brilliant singer. Taylor continued her usual way of telling stories with her lyrics, but this time it was a tale of freedom and release instead of pain and anguish. Songs like State of Grace, to Begin Again, to 22, to Everything has changed ft Ed Sheeran and others made this album my pick for the best album of the year.

NEW TV-SHOWS TO KEEP WATCHING!!

Hello Guys, it's definitely been a while. Since we last spoke a couple of wonderful new shows have come up and while some are here to stay, others have already been cut off. Here is the first part of the new show i'll encourage you to watch or keep watching as the case may be.

1. ARROW
No matter how you look at it, arrow is an excellent new show. Great script and great acting. One thing that stands out with arrow is the pace. It's not draggy but straight to the point and always keeping you guessing on what Oliver's plan is. Definitely one to keep watching

2. ELEMENTARY
The idea of a 21st century sherlock Holmes seemed far-fetched at first but i must say elementary gets it right in every aspect. Jonny Lee Miller makes this show worth the while with his breath-taking performances.

3. LAST RESORT
Before i go on a rant again as to why they cancel some shows, i think i'm justified in saying cancelling this show is a colossal mistake. I've come up with different theories on why it was cancelled like the US govt doesn't want to be seen in that light or someone is so cash strapped they had to cut it. Either way it's still a great new show and one to finish.

4. NASHVILLE
If you can't stand country and don't appreciate good music like i do, this show might be a drag but any genre of music you prefer, you can't fault the drama and acting in this show. Everyone plays their role brilliantly and i can only see it getting better.

5. GO ON
I already highlighted the brilliance of this show earlier on in my blog. Look it up and see why you should watch it

6. THE NEW NORMAL
If you like cheesy and more cheesy spread over fun and craziness, this is one you should be watching. oh the name also adds to the cheesy nature of the show

7. REVOLUTION

This one is a maybe but if you would take my advice, keep watching it. It starts of slow and terrible but it builds into something worth waiting and watching for.

If you haven't watched any of these, i advise you to start off with one. anyone at all (probably last resort or arrow) and tell me what you think.

until next time keep living in an atmosphere for creativity.

X-Factor (TOP 13)- TOP 5 PERFORMANCES

So after the first night of audience voting, here is a run-down on who i think killed thier performances and should go through easily. Here are our top 5 picks of the night

1. Carly Rose Sonenclar
Every time i hear this girl is 13, it is just so unbelievable  She took on Bruno Mars' It will rain and blew the roof off. Simon said we are watching a star in the making and i totally agree. With that performance i think she set the pace for others to follow in the competition.
Rating: 5/5

2. Fifth HARMONY
I guess the name change really worked a great change in this group. They have embraced their diversity and that was what they showed last night. It was a brilliant rendition of Christina Perri's "a thousand years". Really hope it is not a one off performance and they can keep it up.
Rating: 4.5/5

3. LYRIC 145
When i originally watched it, i thought it was whack, but i watched it again and i watched it again and i watched it again and they were in Simon's words, "bloody fantastic"Big ups to them, i think they are an american revelation and they will go far...
Rating: 4.4/5

4. Beatrice Miller/ Vino Alan

there was a tie for 4th place as we couldn't decided who was better between Beatrice and Vino. Both did awesome jobs on their songs and delivered with such perfection and emotion. The case could be made for Beatrice that she is young but.. a tie is the best we could come up with.
Rating: 4.2/5

5. Diamond WHITE
So happy she is back. She didn't deserve to be sent off, and she showed why. Not her best, i must say but good enough to make our top 5 or 6 if you may. Singing Whitney Houston's I have nothing again albeit very straight-forward this time she did her best to make it her own.
Rating: 4.0/5
